My child / pupil may have a learning difficulty - where can I get information?

The free OAASIS information sheets on 17 various learning difficulties are the best place to start. They are just one sheet of A4 and provide an outline of the condition, the problems that may occur, some helpful hints, a list of specific organisations and websites for more in-depth advice and support.

We also have an information sheet entitled ‘Useful Contacts and Websites’, this is nine sided but contains organisations and websites on a whole host of disorder sand SEN issues – very useful for teachers, care workers, professionals and other organisations.

To find books on your particular concern we have the sheet ‘Books – where to find them’ which lists a range of SEN publishers.

And remember, you can ring or email OAASIS for advice, internet research, and information about other sources of help, e.g. diagnostic centres and local support groups.
